For one thing, go when the light turns green

Don't tailgate, go when it turns green, lower the volume of your stereo if it's loud, don't decide at the last minute to change lanes and end up half in one lane and half in the other as you attempt to move over but can't cuz you're stuck in traffic - essentially causing two lanes to come to a stand still till you move your butt, use your turn signal, don't gawk at those around you, and for goodness sakes, if you have a child who should be in a car seat, put them in one instead of letting them hang out the window to stare at everybody - that part is not so much unpolite as as safety danger to the child!

You should concentrate on the traffic light and the traffic. Pay attention to the vehicles and don't make eye contact with the driver, unless you want to flirt a little.

If you are behind them, don't' tailgate them. If they are like a sec of on the green light, don't honk, unless it takes way too long. I don't' know honking is a pain that leads to many incidents such as shootings... If they are in the next lane, don't look at them... unless she is hot, in which case slowly roll your eyes to view her. If you catch staring at you, then you can look at her. Maybe even a number is exchange. Actually, scratch that, she could be a cop hooker undercover. uh... yeah be polite!

I listen to my stereo loud and when I come to a light, I make sure I turn it down to a reasonable level.

Don't hold up traffic and don't pick your nose while waiting for the light to turn green.

Just be courteous, and pay attention to the light and the moving vehicles around you.

Pass out beers and pretzels to your neighbouring "stoppees". Be especially generous to guys on motorbikes.

Proper topics of discussion are stuff like the weather, sports, and whose car is fastest.
