Ok first the work Hades is not the only word used in the Bible for Hell, there are other meanings besides "the grave" which is a common Jehovah's witness misnomer.
I believe hell must be bad because if its not then I don't think Jesus would have tolerated what he did just so that we wouldn't cease to exist.
I DO think that your context on Hell being the absence of God is accurate however I got the idea from Dante's Inferno (the BOOK) not the bible and don't profess it as fact merely something that makes sense to me.

I believe that Hell is exactly as the Bible describes it to be; which is a place of fire that burns forevermore, a place of nothing but pain and torment, where there will never be any hope for escape or relief. I believe that the grave is just the beginning of eternity in Hell. Jesus would never of described Hell to us as He did, if it were not true. Hell is just as much a reality for those who are lost when they die, as Heaven is a place of eternal life for those who have received Jesus as their personal Savior. If you think that there is torment that goes on here on this earth, you have never had even a glimpse of torment and torture, until you see the fires of Hell. I hope and I pray that anyone who has not asked Jesus Christ to come into their heart and save their soul from sin, will do so immediately. For Hell is most certainly not a place to look forward to going to.

I believe you are right about most of it, in your thought that it is a complete absence from God, that could be more true than you know... but it is also a realization of your past sins in the earthly life, ones that were left unrepented and stayed with you in death. I also believe that it is the deepest sorrow possible, knowing that in the earthly state one had a chance to change for the better and rebelled against it. We are told we will suffer pains of torment and damnation, but it will be our own guilt inflicted upon ourselves that could cause that pain! There is alot of lore about the devil causing our pain and torment in Hell,... He will only try to get us there through our earthly lifetime, using whatever temptations he can find to drag us down to the lowest level... We will punish ourselves if we find ourselves in Hell for eternity. We do have this life to make sure we are a good person and avoid that damnation!
Sometimes there are those of us who go through a bit of Hell in this life, through whatever trials or pain we are to endure, it is enough to make sure that we don't want to dwell that way forever. Make sure you are a good and loving person in your lifetime!

I believe hell will be a place for demons and human souls alike. The demons will rule hell and will be subject to the same pain and agony of their human captives. Demons hate human beings and they will find some satisfaction in making human beings suffer more intensely. The Bible describes these demonic beings as being 10-15 feet tall, these are the same beings that co-habitated with women and of the same bloodline that David slew with his slingshot. These demonic beings will be pure evil and filled with rage and hate toward their human captives. Their rage towards humans comes from the fact that they think they are better than us. They are more intelligent and more powerful, yet, when they sinned against God, they were not forgiven and were cast out of heaven forever. Humans are weak and pathetic to them and yet when we sin, God forgives us. Make no mistake, satan will not pat you on the back and tell you "Welcome"...Rather, he is looking forward to torturing those poor human souls for all eternity. Remember, God says you will serve One or the other. I would much rather serve God than to be subject to satan, on his terms, in hell. God Bless You.

Hell, like heaven, is not only a state of existence, but a literal, and very real, place. It is a place where the unrighteous will experience never-ending, eternal wrath from God. They will endure emotional, mental, and physical torment, consciously suffering from shame, regret, and contempt.
Hell is described as a bottomless pit (Luke 8:31, Revelation 9:1), and a lake of fire, burning with sulfur, where the inhabitants will be tormented day and night forever and ever (Revelation 20:10). In hell, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, indicating intense grief and anger (Matthew 13:42). It is a place “where the worm never dies and the fire never goes out” (Mark 9:48). God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but desires them to turn from their wicked ways so that they can live (Ezekiel 33:11). But He will not force us into submission; if we choose to reject Him, He has little choice but to give us what we want – to live apart from Him.

The traditional concept of "Hell" comes from a confusion of ideas about the grave (Hades) and the "Lake of Fire." However, according to the Bible (if one takes the time to study it fully), the grave is only temporary -- until the resurrection. After that those who continue in their wickedness will be thrown into the Lake of Fire, and there, burned until there is nothing left -- their souls will be completely consumed, never to be conscious again (Matthew 10:28).

I see 3 perspectives.
1. Hell is the way it is said to be in the Bible.
In this case it is the traditional firey hell and it is real pain for eternity.
2. The Bible was edited to be used as a social/political/religious weapon for authority.
There are many Bibles and despite what people say they have some very large differences, Hell could have been added in.
3. Hell doesn't exist.

Hell according to the Bible is a place without hope, love, joy, peace. It is a place of torture by demons. Place where you are burning. There is no rest. Where the fire never quench, the worms never die. Where your senses are so acute. A place of regret and can't do anything about it. There are so many level of hells. For more detail check this book out by a man name Bill Weise who in the spirit the Lord allowed him to experience hell for twenty-three minutes. It's call "23 Minutes in Hell".
