After Jesus returns to the earth, the saints will be resurrected to eternal life. The rest of the dead will not live again until the 1000 years are ended (Revelation 20:5).
After that, those who die will die the "Second death" -- from which no one will ever be resurrected.
So, there will be life after the first death (though not immediately after), but not after the second death.

Good story by simon p---the body is merely a mortal vessel to carry your soul around on this earth...your one and only soul is eternal and whether you choose to accept Jesus as your Savior and believe in him will determine where you spend eternity after death---joy and happiness in Heaven or eternal pain and suffering in Hell without a friend in sight. We are not capable of entering Heaven on our own merits---our sins are too great and God demands holy perfection in Heaven but by the saving grace of Jesus Christ's sacrificial death and resurrection, we are given the free gift of eternal life in Heaven if we believe in Him...he has washed all our sins away in the sight of God. He alone was the sinless Lamb of God, he bore our sins and punishment for the whole world. Hope to see you there.

The Bible tells us that there is not only life after death, but eternal life so glorious that “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9). Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, came to the earth to give us this gift of eternal life. “He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).

Some people claim there is, yet have provided no evidence.
From my personal observations of dead people, it doesn't seem that they come to life again. At least none of the dead people I have seen have come back to life after death.

Jesus Christ, who changed the world through His miracles and teachings was so convinced there was a hell that He let Himself be crucified in the place of sinners so they could be forgiven while He took their punishment upon Himself.
Then God the Father raised Him from the dead.
His disciples were so convinced He was risen from the dead that everyone of them except John died the death of a martyr in spreading their faith. They tried to kill John too, but God rescued him from a cauldron of boiling oil.

Jesus Christ told us this story:
"Now there was a rich man, and he habitually dressed in purple and fine linen, joyously living in splendor every day.
"And a poor man named Lazarus was laid at his gate, covered with sores,
and longing to be fed with the crumbs which were falling from the rich man's table; besides, even the dogs were coming and licking his sores.
"Now the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried.
"In Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom.
"And he cried out and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame.'
"But Abraham said, 'Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things; but now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony.
'And besides all this, between us and you there is a great chasm fixed, so that those who wish to come over from here to you will not be able, and that none may cross over from there to us.'
"And he said, 'Then I beg you, father, that you send him to my father's house--
for I have five brothers--in order that he may warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'
"But Abraham said, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.'
"But he said, 'No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent!'
"But he said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.'"
