I don't understand if you are suppose to eat with the kind of chopsticks they give you at restaurants like Miyabi; the pretty coloured ones with pictures usually of geishas at the top. Or are they for hair or decoration?
I don't believe I've ever seen anyone eating with them...

I have lots of them and we eat with them all the time. In oriental countries they were used more by the elite and also at the Geisha houses for the guests. I think that the ones you see in the ladies hairs are longer than the ones they eat with and even a bit different shaped. Go for it and have fun.

I use them.

If you have questions about the particular restaurant, ask the host or server, but I've not been to a restaurant that has prohibited their use.

if they give them to u @ a restaurant they're for eating smart one. Also in Asia on special occasions they eat with fancy chopsticks as opposed to wooden ones. why didnt u ever ask the waitress or waiter?? Coz ur so bright.
