Well I had a cat named Bandit..He was my childhood cat that I had for 15 years...Anyways he was an outside cat and would be gone for a month sometimes but always came back...Until about 3 years ago, but I knew that it was his time to pass away because he was so old...
I've also lost a cat though. After Bandit passed away we've been keeping the cats indoors..So anyways..we had a oarnge and white long haired cat named Max. I had him for a year and he was the kitten of my cat Miss Kitty..One day he escaped outside and I waited a day to see if he would come back..We'll he didnt and we looked for him, contacted the police, posted flyers and such...
This year though, we started to go for walks in the summer..Well we passed a house and in the open doorway sat a big, fat, healthy cat..It was Max...I know it was him because I called his name and he looked at me...I would have taken him back and freaked out on those people because we posted a flyer right infront of their house and it got tore down....but I have 3 cats now...and I cant afford to have another one...So as long as he is healthy and happy...Im ok..
I really hope that you find your cat...or find some way to know that he is ok where he is...Good luck and Im very sorry!

I also, live in a rural area. My cat Piper who was neutered no matter how I tried to keep in would get out. Sometimes he would be gone for three days and would come back. I never knew where he went as I would look for him,ask the neighbors and lived in fear the neighbor dogs that run loose would get him but,he would eventually show up. It was strange because I knew that intact males would go to great lengths to find females but, since he was neutered before he was six months of age I knew that was not the reason. Hope you see your cat soon.

My cat Molly got lost for 2 weeks, she is spayed, but she got bitten by a dog, so the vet told us cats are very selfish and keep their problems to them self, so after she was kind of healed by her self she came back, she really scared us! Hope yours return home soon! Good Luck

One of my cats was gone for 2 months. He was in the neighborhood but just decided to hang out with other cats for a couple of months. It was in a neighbor's backyard/junkyard.
My female cat was gone for 10 days and I gave up on her. But she came back. I don't know where she went. She loves my house but she decided to stay away for 10 days.
Hope your cat returns soon.

Unfortunately, I'm not an advocate for outdoor cats. Mine are kept inside. They're happy and safe. I did have one that used to go outside. He wasn't fixed. He came home after a year and then left again and we never saw him again. Sorry. I know that's not encouraging. I hope you find your pet.

I lived in LA. California...During our move here to Texas, my cat decided to take a vacation, on the day we were leaving for good, we searched high & low for her [Peter] & she was no where to be found.
Three yrs later, we decide to go back to visit family & what not, and we go back to visit one of our neighbors [who my mother was very close to] And there she was....My PETER!
Someone who moved into our old house fed her & had a kitty bed on her doorstep.
I was soooo happy to see her & called her they way i used to, and she came! I scooped her up & held her tight!
So....Cats remember things & people. Your cats probably taking a vacation.

examine community shelters to be sure if somebody took her there. it is likewise a reliable thought to mail or fax a flier to as many vet workplaces as a possibility on your section, ideally with a image. I labored with somebody whose cat have been given out jointly as they have been shifting in fixtures, and it replaced into discovered while somebody took it to a vet place of work a hundred and twenty miles away to be scanned for a microchip. publish fliers and classified ads in community papers so as that if somebody has her, they understand which you're in seek of for her. that is impossible to declare if something got here approximately to her, or if she have been given misplaced, if somebody picked her up, and so on. All you're able to do is shop checking areas the place somebody could take her if she replaced into misplaced or injured.

Mine disappeared outside for a week but reappeared. Just keep calling her name. Get a loud speaker if you have too.
