I left my car unlocked and my keys on the seat a university police officer took my keys I had to goto there police station to pick up the keys. If the answer is no what actions can I do to get the officer in trouble.

The officer may have prevented your car from being stolen and you want to know if you can complain on him? What a piece of work.
This is what you should do. Write the officer's chief a nice letter thanking the officer for his vigilance and for looking after your property. Commend the officer for taking the time for safe guarding your property that you carelessly left unattended that could have resulted in your car being stolen.
Just imagine if your car had been stolen and the police later had gotten into a high speed chase with the bad guy in your car. The bad guy could wreck your car and hurt or kill someone. Then some other retard would be on here asking if he could sue you for leaving your keys in the car.

First off...I don't know why someone would call university police rent a cops. They went to the same training as many city or state officers. They also have the same authority.
To answer your question...You want to get someone in trouble for providing you a service. Look at yourself. Better yet, how can you look at yourself. If the officer had the intent on helping you by preventing a crime then there is simply nothing you can do. Too bad your car was not stolen. Of course then the same person that you would like to "get in trouble" would be assisting you. You probably would have been upset and complained that nothing was done...

Yes, your Police Officer can do that. He can also give you a ticket. In our State it is against the Law to leave your keys in the ignition. Why would you want to get this Officer in trouble when he just helped so you would not get into trouble? My gosh, where is your appreciation and Respect. You need to have a priority check.

seeing you had to pick up your keys at the police station,the officer must have had a good reason to remove your keys.I would say he was only doing his job and doing you a favour at the same time.In this day and age what fool leaves his keys in an unlocked car?
You should grateful that this officer helped you instead of trying to get him into trouble.What were you doing at a University anyway,I thought only people with intelligence went to uni?

Yes, he can.
Were you in the car at the time, or did you leave it unattended.
If it was unattended you own the cop a big "thank you". Far too many cars are stolen 'cos the owner left it unlocked and the keys in the ignition (or on the seat).
So why do you want to get the cop in trouble? What exactly are you trying to say he did wrong?

It's called safe-keeping. Leaving your keys in your unlocked car could be considered an "attractive nuisance". Some kind could have come a long and driven off with your car, gotten itno an accident and YOU would be at fault. Be thankful the officer did what he did.

If you are in the habit of giving away free cars I guess you do have the right to be angry and want to make a complaint. That darn guy just interfered with your entrepreneurial generosity to the community. If I were you I would call a local news station and give them a heck of a story of professional malfeasance and malicious tampering!
