autopsy: noun
The art and science of studying the dead in great detail until a crime is discovered and solved.

To be one you must be very polite to the Police not to mention your Psychiatrist and then there's the neighbours dog and those mutts you trip over on Vine.
You can be one of several Professionals that actually get in on the act and that's folks like Pathologists Medical Examiners and Coroners.
It's best to be well qualified in Medicine and Science but there's always the impossible and so you must be well read... be selective and suspect nobody.

If you want you can be a Private Eye and if you're lucky you'll never see an autopsy but it's nice to have around in case there's trouble see?

As a Pathologist you'll always get the job I think but as for Medical Examiner there's even more to be said. However some lay people get the big job and one just last year I hear around here.but that's about it for the free ride.

An autopsy is a medical procedure of an investigative nature to determine the cause of death.

You can't become an autopsy unless you die. You can become the forensic scientist who performs one, however.

The requirements, which I think you mean, are heavy in science classes and anatomy, to begin with.

An autopsy is performed by a medical examiner on a postmortem patient (in other words, dead). You cannot BE an autopsy, as it is a verb (an action) not a noun (person, place or thing).

An autopsy is the procedure used to cut apart and examine a dead body to see what caused death. I don't think you want to be one. If you want to know how to learn to do them, you will need to go to medical school and specialize in that area.

An autopsy is a process by which dead bodies are dissected and studied (usually to find cause of death.)
The easiest way to become one is to die under questionable circumstances.
The requirements to become one are as follows: you must be dead, you must be examined by a coroner.
