I just got back from a roadtrip through the north western United States. My boyfriend and I couldnt buy redbull in a few states. Someone told us it was killing people. Anyone know anything about this? Has Red Bull really killed people?

red bull has not killed people. there has been some nasty rumors like people passing out in clubs and have been blamed on red bull because that's what they were holding in their hand when they passed out (they may have not taken into consideration that they're at a rave and the kids are prolly doing E and not drinking water but drinking loads of red bull....go figure)

i have also heard stories about a kid playing football in the heat passing out because he drank a red bull. he might have been drinking water but obviously not enough. red bull is not a re-hydrator, nor do they promote it that way. red bull actually takes away water (not alot) from your system because the b-vitamins are water-soluble (meaning they need water to break down) add that to not enough water intake and strenuous activity in the heat; of course the results are going to be negative (and it probably would have ended that way even if he did not drink red bull)

and red bull is not illegal. some stores might 'ban' red bull because the store owned by them and they do not know all of the facts about it. but red bull is banned from certain countries (like france) because of the restrictions on the amount of vitamins in the drink.

soooo what i'm trying to get at here is that people hear stories and rumors (even about other energy drinks but still think of red bull) and just pass them on with a few more twists cause they merge all the stories together!! haha sorry if i was all over the place.....

I found a brief blog article about a guy who supposedly suffered a fatal heart attack after consuming 8 cans of the stuff in five hours, but that could just be the beginning of another urban legend.

Here is a link to the FAQs on the RedBull site: http://www.redbullusa.com/#page=ProductPage.FAQS

I don't believe that this product has been made illegal in the states, though the FDA HAS banned a product from Thailand because of an illegal artificial flavor, but that product has no relation to the popular RedBull energy drink.

You never can tell what places are going to sell what products. There are a lot of times we've been on the road and unable to buy the products we're used to, particularly at convenience/gas station stores.

Its not illegal. T

The amount a person consumes in one set time frame could cause em harm.
Remember the colleges that were on the NEWS and that new student that was drinking in a contest and when the students left the bar the one that was in the contest was so drunk he blacked out and died of alcohol poison in front of the bar.
TOO MUCH AT A time can be fatal.

red bull is not illegal, some states might not sell it because of the deaths surrounding mixing alcohol with red bull

There have been a few cases-caused by people ignoring the recommendation for limiting consumption that's right on the can. I don't drink it myself but, really-if the distributor says no more than 2 a day pay damn attention!
People are idiots.

I don't know about it killing people but I have heard that it contains mega doses of stimulants. If people choose to act foolishly and consume too much, then anything is possible.

No. Maybe they have stricter laws on energy drinks than the rest of the country.
