Exercise along with controlling what you eat. Consider using a diet that uses the Glycemic Index. It works well without people feeling starved. Also, there have been a lot of studies where they had people move at different paces as they walked, maybe ran. They would start slow, get up to a good pace and then push for 2 or 3 minutes before returning to the good pace, doing this over and over again. People seemed to lose weight much faster with this style of exercise. Maybe it is fooling the body by not allowing it to get used to a particular speed or format. Anyway, worth a try.

Choose dark-colored veggies, and add more foods that have high fiber to your diet. Also, exercise for 30 minutes at least three times a week, minimum. Drink LOTS and LOTS of water to keep your appetite down and your body hydrated. Most of all, don't be discouraged if you're not dropping 10 pounds a week. Healthy weight loss takes time. If you're really concerned about obesity, consult your doctor.

4) Avoid junk food, snacks and soda drinks
5) have 5-6 healthy meals a day (1 plate size only) to keep the tummy satisfied

look... the only way to do is to keep your matabolism up. the best way to do that is not to starve yourself but to in a way eat more... the way i do it is eat a small meal or snack every 3-4 hours... This keeps your body constantly working therefore burning more calories and fat... on less active days 6-7 hours and not to many sweets

By eating fewer calories than you burn. Step up your exercise, even if that means a ten minute walk twice a day. Drink 8-8oz glasses of water a day. Eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. Eat smaller portions. If you normally would eat 3 tacos then eat two, if you normally eat two pieces of pizza eat one, etc. Choose healthy snacks like lowfat yogurt, or one piece of lowfat cheese, or a banana.
