I got off work today and showered and crawled into bed, I remember waking up and asking my girlfriend something, but i was half asleep, I knew when I said it it did not make much sense. She said I woke up about 5 or 6 more times and did the same thing, asking crazy off the wall questions that just were jumbled and made no sense, but that i told her they made sense to me at the time. I know I have been working doubles the past month or so, and have on average gotten about 5 or 6 hours of sleep a day... is the lack of sleep making me crazy?? or was it just a strange morning.

I often function on 5 or 6 hours a day, but I am kind of hyperactive. Most people need 8 hours and if you have been working and functioning on less sleep than you need for an extended period of time it will have an impact on your thought processes. Try to take power naps (short 5 or 10 minute naps) during the day if you are working more than the normal 8 hours. More importantly though, try to cut down on the long hours

It sounds like lack of sleep...
Years ago when I was living at home I woke up and heard something coming from my Mom's room.
I went in to find her sitting up singing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame". She sang the whole thing then laid back down and went to sleep.
She has no memory of it at all.
Try to get some rest and you will feel better, just remember that it may take more then one good night's sleep to do so.

I have done that. My poor husband said one night I woke up and was talking crazy about people and things he had never heard of. I was so exhausted from being up three days straight so I am thinking lack of sleep was the cause.

You can live without food for a long time, but you cannot live for very long without sleep. Sleep deprivation can do some really nasty things to a person, not the least of which is make a mentally ill person psychotic in some cases.

My friend totally didn't get enough sleep one day and out of the blue she said "orgasmic staring at the toaster". It was the most random thing I had ever heard. She's had more too but that was just the strangest.

Of course it was sleep deprivation. Your brain was having trouble cutting itself off. I would definately try to sleep alittle more, not getting enough sleep can really take a toll on your body after a while.

Not getting enough sleep could certainly affect how you are. Can you set a limit on your work hours? That actually sounds very unhealthy!

Your job is wearing you down. You're tired. Its getting to you. You need a lot of sleep and a vacation.
Spend more time with your girlfriend. Its nicer that way.

King Solomon said it good , in the multiple of business comes dreams. so i'd say you were really tired & had a lot on your mind.
i've been talking to people in my dreams lately, so I reckon we all can do stuff in our sleep.when we're really tired.
take some time to relax & unwind before retireing. it might help. & maybe the working hrs will slow down. (MY husband has been known to talk about work in his sleep)..
