That depends on how close you are in the relationship. If they are just a co-worker and you know them only on the job as an acquaintance, then you want to keep the gift casual and nice. Sometimes a good book to read is nice or a movie. They can use that in the hospital as well and most hospitals even have tv's that you can borrow to watch movies on. Also, the flower shops have ideas for 'get well' gift arrangements for guys. I gave my brother a soup bowl mug that had his favorite soup package in it and some helium balloons tied onto the handle of the bowl. I brought his soup to the flourist and they added it to the arrangement. If you know them more personally, you can even give them a bottle of cologne. and tie a get well balloon onto the bottle neck. If they are a really close friend you can do almost any kind of gift and it will be appropriate. Usually something that is a favorite of their works nice too. Of course any of the above gifts can be given to the special friend too. Whatever you give, it is nice to include a 'get well' set of balloons with it for a guy.
