it will have very little effect. your training and dedication is what will ultimately determine your success as a distance runner. I've had friends run and complete the Boston Marathon, some at less than 15% body fat and other at almost 30%.

I have been running a lot lately too. I found out that for the first week i ran 1 mile and it took me 10 minutes. Every week I increases my speed and distance. I can run 1 mile in about 8 minutes. Today I ran 7.3 miles in an hour. The more you run the better you will get. Keep up the good work.

ignore that guy above me. Running is not only about weight, there is also technique involved. You can effeciently run a mile in a short time.
It's not about how fast others can do it, it's about how you feel personally when you are doing it. If you can improve your time each time while in training you can usually drop 3 or 4 minutes overall easily. just remember to stay healthy and safe in your training

sorry i dont want to be mean but a 11 minute mile???? that is sad, i dont care how over weight you are.,a mile isnt even far. I think i can crawl a mile in eleven minutes. Most people can walk a mile faster than that. I know this sounded mean, but its how i feel and i just dont see how people can run a mile slower that 7 minutes
