My cats have always been into people food [and none have been over weight, and in very good health,] and I was wondering if there was any people food that cats cannot eat at all? I know dogs can't have chocolate, or anything too acidic, but what about cats? Thanks.

No. I don't feed them bacon, and I don't feed them purposely. When I'm eating a muffin they jump up and take a small nibble. I'm eating pasta, one of them steals a noodle. Honestly, I'm not feeding them people food in place of their cat food. I don't see anything wrong with it if the cats we've had in the past lived long, healthy lives, and they ate people food on occaision.

Chocolate is also poisonous to cats as well as caffeine, nuts, grapes, onions, garlic, and believe it or not dairy. Although these foods are not all deadly, they can make your cat sick. For example milk products can cause stomach discomfort vomiting and diarrhea because cats are actually lactose intolerant.

This is a good site with lots of info, also there are many household plants that can be dangerous.

Don't give them anything salty. No fried foods. Nothing greasy. You really shouldn't give them foods you can eat with the exception of chicken in my opinion. And none of the bbq, lemon pepper, etc. chicken. Just normal baked chicken.

Dried cat food always works too.

Oh, by the way, my cats LOVE LOVE LOVE tuna (human kind). It's safe for them. I HIGHLY recommend buying canned tuna. :)

they can be little chow thieves, and most of what they may steal is harmless in small quantities...the links the above people gave you are informative and i recommend them.
i give my 'pringers cat food and anchovie treats (on occasion). but she will steal off my plate if i'm not paying attention, and i don't figure it will harm her because she doesn't get verymuch in her little snatch and run antics.
