When I was little, my dad told me ATMs worked by having little monkeys inside them.
I believed that for years. Now I work in a bank, and wish it were true!

Evolution was an interesting subject to me when I was young, then I matured and became knowledgeable of the commercialized empire and that science is a part of it and it's all about funding grants and money. Nothing really adds up except for the money and prestige.

I have found that most things I've experienced and been told in life are true. My dad taught science, and as Catholics, we were told the historical events and circumstances around each saint and reference. We just weren't "told", we were "taught". There is a difference. When you tell someone what to do, you are telling them what to think. When you teach, you ask questions, and see what the students come up with. They use their own thought-process, and you give them, above all, an experience.

When I was a small child I believed Firemen and fire trucks went and SET fires!
Edit:
I also believed until quite recently that my Ego was my True Self.

I believed you could literally dig a hole to China. I must have tried a half dozen times. I guess adults thought it was cute, or something. Joke's on me.

I believed my ex-boyfriend truly loved me, I moved in with him, and he lost interest in me not too long after. I stayed with him for 5 1/2 yrs, then he told me that he will never give me his whole heart because his ex-girlfriend is the only one he will truly love. I gave my all to him, only to get kicked in the teeth. I left him, now he wants me back. NOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
