In this context I suggest to translate either with the verb "pervenio" that means to come to, arrive, reach or with the verb "redeo" that means to return, go back.
If you prefer "he has come home" in Latin is
AD DOMUM PERVENERAT or AD DOMUM REDIERAT
I instead you want translate "he came home" in Latin is
AD DOMUM PERVENIT or AD DOMUM REDIVIT
You may go with the one you like more.

Don't quote me but I think is it, "Ego veniam domo."
If for a tombstone shouldn't it say, "He went home ?" "Ego veniens domo."
I'm rusty so don't know if these are "correct."
veniam = come
veni = came
veniens = went
