If I were you....I would fly into Ontario....its much easier to get in and out of and not that crowded. Then I would rent a car at the rental car place. If I were you, I would try to arrive into California between 12:00 adn 2:00..that way you miss the horrible rush hour on the freeways.
From the Ontario Airport I would take Airport Road west to Grove...Make a left on Grove and go down to the 60 freeway. Get on the Pomona Freeway (60) going west. Take the 60 freeway west to the 57 South and get off on Katella Blvd and go right on Katella and that will take you straight into Anaheim. Have a good trip into California!!!!!!!!!

Your considerations, other than price, will be traffic and distance.
SNA (John Wayne) is the closest to Anaheim, only 15 miles. Traffic in the afternoon will be very bad going up the 5 or 55.
Long Beach is 19 miles. Check out JetBlue, which flies out of LB, and has good fares.
Ontario is 31 miles, and should have the least traffic (unless you arrive early in the morning). If you have a chance, that's my airport of choice, since it's very easy to get in and out. In many cases you can get to Anaheim faster from ONT than SNA due to the traffic.
LAX is 34 miles from Anaheim. A previous poster made a good point: July is a long way off, and the rates change allthe time. However, I don't think that you will save $165 on a shuttle or car rental. It could be worth it, if that's the best rate you can get.

I work at LAX, But for the $55 price difference, John Wayne would be better if you are staying in Anaheim As for rates, July '08 is a loooooooong way off and rates change daily. So don't get your mindset into that rate. Yes LAX is fine for flying into, but it will cost you to get from Los Angeles to Anaheim and if you fly into JW you won't have to fight all that darn traffic. If can be a nightmare. And there is about 30-40 miles difference from LAX to SNA.

If it was me, I would fly into SNA. At least some of that $55 savings flying into LAX will be sucked up in transportation costs from LAX to Anaheim. SoCal has the highest fuel rates in the nation; that should also be considered.

ok, I would fly into Long beach, but only 4 carriers currently fly into and out of there. Jet Blue, Alaska airlines, Us Air and i think United. Long beach is just minutes from john wayne airport. But if i had to choose between LAX and SNA Id choose SNA. I always pay the extra to come into Disneyland closer.

If you can avoid traveling from LAX to Anaheim before 7 pm at night you will be avoiding traffic. Is it worth $165 to have the three of you stuck in traffic for three hours trying to drive a distance that should only take you one hour. If the answer is yes, then LAX. If the answer is no then John Wayne.
LAX is not so bad. The traffic in LA is.

I personally would pay the extra $55 per person and fly to Orange County compared to deal with LAX and all the madness.

John Wayne (Orange County) is probably closest but Ontario isn't bad. LAX is NOT a good idea.
