I have a Charter cable box and spanish subtitles pop us on NBC, but not on any other channel. Sometimes random letters pop up on the screen too. What can I do to get the subtitles on the NBC channel to go away? Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

A lot of TV's have different types of Closed Captioning. Yours is probably set to CC3 or something like that for spanish subtitles. I would try the remote that came with the TV and see if you can find the function that turns on and off CC and make sure it's turned completely off.

Some DVR cable boxes might have CC functions, but it's hard to accidentally turn that on. I suspect your tv.

If all else fails, call Charter, cable companies are usually willing to help on the phone or send a tech if all else fails.

LOOK on your TV remote, and LOOK on your Charter cable remote.....

LOOK for a button labled "CC" or "CAPT"...that's the one you want to turn off "Closed-Captioning"

Press the button...you'll likely see it set for CC1....continue pressing the key several times to cycle it back to OFF....
