Jada, Yellow field corn is used to make yellow corn meal and white field corn is used to make white corn bread.

Want to know where the best corn comes from to make cornmeal............

All kinds, as their are different types of cornmeal. Most commonly, yellow corn. The same kind that you eat off of the cob.

yellow corn, cornmeal is made from corn, not the otherway around. Cornmeal is corn thats dried and ground down.

Cornmeal is made *from* corn, as another poster put it more rudely. What we call flour could just as well be called 'wheatmeal'. In German, the word for flour *is* meal (mehl).

You make it with regular cornmeal, I've made cornmeal mush with it and it has the same texture as polenta.
