The younger cat probably wants to play or thinks of the older cat as a romodel. You can't stop it yourself.....if the older cat gets annoyed enough he'll show the young one and after a couple of slaps from th eolder cat the young one will learn.

My younger cats are like that as well. The older cat occasionally puts them in their place, but he usually tollerates them well. He's top cat around here even though he's 13 and getting kind of senile and missing his upper canine teeth and the younger cats know that and respect him so he gets first choice of where he's going to sun himself, or which patch of shade he wants. Sometimes they get on his nerves with their playing and he nips at them or swats them, but they know not to push their luck. Cats have to work out their own social order or there will be trouble later on that shows up in everything from soiling the floor to shreading the furniture.
I think the younger cats follow the older cats around because they are in awe of them. I've watched my younger cats try to do the things they see my older cat doing, much in the same way kittens learn how to hunt by watching their mother. These particular cats were found in the ditch in front of my house when they were about 6 weeks old so they never had the advantage of their mother's training.

There is really nothing you can do, cats will be cats. If the older one has had enough he will let the younger one know. Leave them alone they will be fine!

The younger kitty just wants to be with the older one. I wouldn't try to stop it. They will work it out and establish their own pecking order. The kitten might get swatted, hissed at or growled at a few times but that is to be expected.

It's probably just curious. Cats are curious animals. And if it REALLY bothers the older cat, he/she will take care of it on its own.

I guess it would be like a younger sibbling following around an older brother or sister. I quess it will grow ou of it. I've also heard squirting them with a water pistol will stop them from doing things you don't like. Doesn't hurt them, they don't like water.
