im currently taking spanish and our project is to make a calender and right the numbers and what they r in spanish! it would look something like this : dos 2, tres 3. my teacher said the the first day of the month is not uno and she said what it was but i forgot! it starts with a "p", AND ITS NOT UNO

spanish calendars are wierd

they say "The first of October"...like we do. But:

they also say "The two of October"... go figure

the first day is PRIMERO (first), which is not logical because the rest of the month is regular numbers DOS, TRES, VEINTE... but if you want to say UNO de julio, anybody will know what you mean but it sounds better if you say primero for the first day

primero, is the the same as first. as we say november fisrt in english, in spanish we say "dia primero"

Well... your teacher is right and wrong.

In Latin America it's normally said "PRIMERO (first) de junio" and then it goes "dos de junio", "tres de junio", etc.

But!!!.. In Spain they do say "UNO de junio".

So, you cannot generalize.. :-)

It's Primero, 2nd is Segundo, etc.
