Everymorning when i wake up walk out my room and my cat is right there, i pet him them hurry to the bathroom, i never ectually close the door all the way, so my cat gets up and paws the door the door opens and he stats purring loud and bumping against me, i pet him and smile because he looks happy, but yea i just want to know why he does this. Oh he also paws at my bedroom door when close and then when i get up to open it he runs right down the stairs half way till i stop walking towards him. I just shrug it off but then he does this a few more tyms but i suspect that its a game 2 him.

You have asked the million dollar question! My 5 kitties do it too. They just sit there and stare or sometimes try to jump in my lap! They will claw the door down if I try to shut them out. One of my kittens fell in the toilet the other day being nosy! Who knows why, but it's cute as the dickens!

First thing in the morning is love-in time for cats. At least all those with which I have experience. First thing in the morning, just as you are rising, even when you are still in bed, is greeting and bonding time, in anticipation of the delicious meal that is to come. And when the cat starts down the stairs, he is headed toward the KITCHEN where the FOOD will be. He is pawing at the door because he is excited about that food, and when you get up and walk toward the stairs, he is anticipating your trip down the stairs.
Cats do these things. They anticipate your morning moves. Mine used to anticipate my trip across the room to the alarm clock. And he would stand by it until I turned it off. He would then stand by the toilet, until I had arrived there. Then on top of the toilet back while I brushed my teeth, and then to the food bowl, which came next.
Your cat is mirroring your movements. Martha Stewart, in the days of landline phones exclusively, had a cat who would answer the phone for her, knocking it off the cradle and meowing into the voicepiece. A man I know who works at home on his computer all day, has a cat who sits on a mat beside the computer, with his paw resting on a rubber computer mouse.
This is the kind of behavior that makes people addicted to cats. But the trip down the stairs is toward the food bowl, and when you don't go that way, the cat revises his agenda.
You have a real sweetie pie there, who is totally immersed in your life, and who knows you in ways no one else probably does and who adores you. I hope you reciprocate.

Most cats will follow you to every room you go into especially the bathroom.
I think because they can pin you down and you are still for them to rub against your legs, which is affection.
Mine also does the closed door bit. I think its a sign he wants to go out and play in the night air. he expects you to follow him till he stops which more than likely will be at the door. After all they are hunters by night.
I give mine a few biscuits to eat when he does it so I can get back to sleep, then he will hop on lounge and have a bath and go to sleep also.

Hey at least he only paws at the door and asks to be let in. I have a polydactyl that has the same personality, and she just opens the door and lets herself in. Anyways, this has to do with their love for you. they want to be with you all the time, and know what you are doing. Some people refer to this type of personality as being dog-like. As far as pawing at the door and running away-he does want to play. Get him a fish tank. It fixed all of my cats issues.

Well, part of it is that while you are peeing you are occupied and so cannot just get up and 'force' petting on him. He gets to determine the contact with you that way. It is a game. It is also part of the conflict that domestic cats have between being grown, aloof cats (natural state) and being kittens forever (domesticated, family members).

Your cat does that because he loves you! My cat follows me around the house all day long - she especially loves to visit me in the bathroom. He just wants to play and be a part of your life - just go along with it.

Awe your kitty loves you that's all. some cats play at night too so he may just be board and glad to see you.My cat twirls in and out of my ankles in the mornings untill I give him some love and feed him, then he lays on the desk in front of the keyboard while I check my mail and have coffee.. it's a routine.

He is giving you a morning greeting! My cat also does this! No matter what time.. my cat is letting me know he is there and he knows I am now awake... Then I believe it is his ways of saying "i love you and feed me." :)
