It's a everyday thing with me, I'm the kind of person that has to pray and persevere in it.

We all have our "crosses" to bear! Life, is a struggle...it is made easier if we are able to surrender our lives to His will. No matter what life brings through the world, our flesh and the principalities, we are victorious, through Jesus Christ...if we only follow and obey! Surrendering has been the hardest thing I've ever done as I am a very take charge kind of person. But, God has shown me over and over again that I do not have to carry and struggle with things of this world if I give them to HIM!
So, I do! Now, to answer your question about fasting. Yes, I have fasted and prayed with all I had! Why? Because I was told my daughter would NOT leave the hospital again. When the doctor told me this, something inside me rejected his words. In fact, I saw death overtaking my daughter! There was no doubt that she was slipping away but, my Spirit...it was crying out for me to rebuke man's words and my fears and go to God...with all I could! So, I did! I fasted, prayed and prayed with my grandson.
I left to get my young grandson so he could visit with his Mom. She was in and out of conciousness and I knew he wanted to see her. He asked me what we were going to do and I told him pray...we prayed once again. He asked if he could annoint his Mom and pray over her when we got to the hospital. I answered yes, immediately as this was not like him at all!
We got there and he saw how fragile she was. His little eyes filled with tears but, he took the oil from me and I helped him onto her bed. He dabbed his little finger in the oil and made a sign of a cross with the oil on her forehead. As he did this, he asked God to please let Momma live and if He took her to heaven..."can I come too?" Hearing those words, broke my heart as I surely understood that my grandson's heart was bleeding.
Two days later, my daughter came home! No fever, the infection was gone! No more meningitis of the brain as God had healed her and that is a fact as the doctors had already given up! We did not! God did not! He heard and honored our prayers and the cry of a child's voice!

Praying and fasting is always a good thing.
Fasting actually makes you stronger spiritually.
When Christ's Disciples were unable to cast out strong demons, Christ told his disciples that it is only through praying and fasting can they do this.
Before a Priest performs an Exorcism, they ususally fast for at least 3 days.
Certainly if someone has a desire to be fulfilled, one should pray and fast. But God will not always give you everything you ask for, but he will give you what you need. For example a person may pray for a million dollars, but God may not give you a million dollars, but he may give you a job in which you are financially stable. We do not necessarily know what is best for us, but God always know what is best for us.

My husband always does and suggests I do. For some reason I don't really want to.
1 reason could be because when I do I would like to be in prayer and focused at why I am fasting but my busy life whisks me away and I forget constantly and it becomes more like dieting or something.
I do fast from certain foods but not just bread and water.

Wonderful suggestion! Yes, I think that Christians need to focus on more praying and more fasting! Remember, Jesus said "when you fast", not if you fast. He indicated that was what we are supposed to be doing! This will help us overcome stubborn obstacles in our lives! It will break down walls that you thought were impossible! It will loosen the grip of Satan, who holds some in bondage! Thank you for your suggestion and for the reminder! May the Lord bless you in a mighty way!

uh, no fasting. unless your a necromancer.(i should know.)
fasting is bad for you and probably will create negative energy. so no fasting. but it is amazing what meditating and then praying dose for you. almost every thing good happens for me with it. (like it rains and stuff or i survive in a car accident.) so try to learn about meditation then meditate and pray. ^-^ makes you feel better to.
and yes every one dose regardless of religion.

It's easy to go without food and water, some people don't have a choice. Try to struggle against anger and selfishness.

We do struggle. Being saved does not omit the human part of us, it just helps us to get through life much easier. Be strong, just remember that no matter what God is there.
