Larceny by False Promise refers to where someone obtains property in exchange for a promise to do something when the person making the promise does not intend to fulfill that promise. An example would be A taking a down payment for doing work for B, and then A takes the money and runs off to the Bahamas with no intention to ever do the work. If you have proof you need to show "intent" Do you have proof? Your best bet would be to report it to the lending agency if possible (mgmt) and let them deal with it. Otherwise there's not a lot you can do.. PROOF and INTENT

Personally? I would stay out of it.

First, what you are describing is a loan, and they gave her the money...she is under no obligation to keep an account open.

How do you know she is not making payments on it just because she moved?

They will eventually find her, don't worry. With technology the way it is, it is very, very difficult to hide.

"Why would you want to turn your friend in? I mean, she did wrong, but it's not your business. Just don't trust her with money or anything important in the future." I second that

first of all, any friend that would involve you in wrong doing; is not a friend. They will probably find her anyway but, the question can be simplified by asking; what is right and what is wrong? the real issue is, where does your moral compass point? good luck in your decision.
