I saw a question on here a little while ago about Reintegration briefing and I have a question about it also....How far in advanced do they usually hold a Reintegration briefing for the spouse before the soldier is scheduled to come home? Is there a set time line? My husband is deployed and we are having a briefing soon too, but we have no idea when they are coming back...does this briefing mean we are getting close to the end of the deployment?

The reintigration briefings here are held on a weekly basis, so they don't necessarily mean he's close to coming home. Check with Family Readiness to see when the next briefing is scheduled. I've never heard of a briefing specifically for spouses, if your base has one, that is GREAT!!! Our base has a briefing for AD members, and spouses are encouraged to attend.
My DH and I have been married nearly 6 years, and have survived 6 deployments and are preparing for #7...I have learned to never believe the "return date" that they give you. He's not on his way home until he calls me from Baltimore, or is stateside....before that, they can always be re-routed :(

Yes usually they have the brief 30 to 60 days out. But that is no guarantee. You soldier can tell you about the time but not a pin point time. and you have to figure if it was a one year deployment it will be with in two weeks of the date of departure. if he got extended you just add 3 months unless he tells you other wise. The FRG should be able to give you a month at least.
Just keep in mind it is OPSEC reasons that they can't tell you and you should not discuss it with you friends and family on the phone or Internet.
the Classes are very good and you should go but it as I said can not be mandatory for you.

They can hold these briefings whenever. Its simply to prepare you for the stages leading up to and following homecoming. If they don't know when he's coming home, chances are it is scheduled just to make sure you have it. When this briefing is held has absolutely no bearing on when he'll be home.

Normally the briefings are planned and set by the FSG, prior to the Soldier comming home. Please please please do not think that he will be comming home immediatly following the briefing. Things happen, airplanes break down, times change, situations arise and a million other things can happen to delay his re-deployment. I waited an extra month, while the rest of the unit was home, because of broken airplanes. When he gets off the bus then he is comming home not until. Good Luck.
