Interesting question. I was certain there were no foreign countries with bases in the U.S.; I did not know how many countries we have bases in, so I googled it. This is what I found:
According to the Defense Department's annual "Base Structure Report" for fiscal year 2003, which itemizes foreign and domestic U.S. military real estate, the Pentagon currently owns or rents 702 overseas bases in about 130 countries and has another 6,000 bases in the United States and its territories. Pentagon bureaucrats calculate that it would require at least $113.2 billion to replace just the foreign bases -- surely far too low a figure but still larger than the gross domestic product of most countries --
from the site:
http://hnn.us/articles/3097.html
IAW http://www.alternet.org/story/47998 there are 2,500,000 U.S. military people OUTSIDE the U.S. borders.
And, according to:
http://www.airliners.net/discussions/military/read.main/63795/
there are no foreign bases in the U.S.
Of course, other countries have no reason to have a base here; they are not going to protect us. We are supposed to protect the world against all bad guys, "foreign and domestic".

nicely gee...aside from human beings that have not spent any time serving thier united states as much as they have served themselves, and the nut jobs claiming we are after international domination, the reality of the situation is that u . s . has been the single united states that has been a international huge peace keeper. optimistic, i be attentive to we've not accomplished each little thing precise, we've made our errors, yet you component to all of us different united states that has been so benevolent ? you may no longer possibly seem out at present at u . s . with all the flag burners, whiners approximately being in a conflict that replaced into long long late, suedo nazi, communists, socialists....etc....yet u . s . use to stand for something quite stable and honorable. its been a debate no count if or no longer we've lost our way considering. we've given maximum of un-American varieties citizenship interior the spirit of freedom that we lost our profound voice of readability of what's suitable for the country and what we stand for. yet, generally, we've constantly despatched help for wars. Albeit no longer all of them, human beings can quote the themes and conflicts in Africa which we did no longer pass considering we did no longer have a vested activity in. I think of if Africa has some organic source that shall we income from, we would have long previous there. however the crass and twisted human beings interior the country think of we would have long previous there to "pilliage" the factors. while has u . s . ever accomplished that ? in case you may record any it could be a rarity if no longer a hoas. We pass to purpose and launch and rebuild international locations so we would have an best buddy and buddy interior the region. very like what we are attempting to do in Iraq. And as our buddy, definite, we would have an benefit of identifying to purchase and identifying to purchase those factors. To do what we do, on a international huge foundation, we decide for bases around the international. per danger no longer as many as we would be taking up, yet to us its a deal, the infrastructure in those places are already estabilished, Vise making a clean base someplace else from scratch.

Why does this matter? Please don’t tell me that you subscribe to moral relativism…
There will ALWAYS be a worlds superpower. America is the most free nation on the face of the earth. We are also the most generous in providing foreign aid. Which nation would be better to replace us as the worlds superpower? China? Russia? North Korea? I think not…

The Pentagon doesn't even know how many bases there are. Best Guess 700+ mostly abroad. No foreign bases in the US.
