I know it sounds like a stupid question. But it's a real problem for me. After I finish lunch, I felt really sleepy, and HAVE to take a long naps. I'm a college students, althuogh I have some spare time, but I don't want to waste too much of my time.

For some reason, I lost all my ability to control myself after I finish lunch. What I used to do is, go back to school library and sit in a real public area. So I sort of forced myself not to sleep.

Is there anyway around this? Any help?
(I tried not to drink coffee, plus drinking coffee everyday is expensive and I don't think it's good for you body.)

Food digestion can make us sleepy. Try eating less for lunch or just eat half at noon and half a couple hours later.

sleep extra a night for a few days combined with long walks after lunch(you want to be active enough not to sleep but not so active that you upset digestion.

Once you have broken the habit you should be able to return to normal.

Don't eat heavy meals, and the meals you do eat, make it mostly protein if you can. Meat instead of spaggetti, veggies do not pack the energy in themselves either. Stay away from greasy stuff. Then get active. Not the library, outside in the fresh air, walk, kick a ball....get your heart going and sweat happening.

It sounds like you are eating too much sugar or carbo's. It increases your blood sugar, but when your bloodsugar falls, it leaves you exhausted. Or maybe you've created a habit. Are you depressed?
