Science seems to be so, stuck in research, that the time it takes to actually say something, we have all thought and knew long ago. eg. chemicals in food create imbalance in body. (Todays news item)
What is all the proving needed for. Can "science" not wake up a little bit earlier and listen to intelligence, or does it always have to "prove" it.

Thank you for your insights, I actually never thought about the points brought up by you all. I stand corrected.

Which chemical causing what imbalance in the body physiology? This DOES make a difference. It takes a great deal of intelligence to figure out what is happening in complex body systems. In medicine it is called empiric if you don't know why something works. We are always unhappy with this. In modern medicine we want scientific evidence - proof - that something works and the biochemical mechanism of HOW it works if possible. If you just guess you may wind up with medical treatments like bloodletting and the myriad of unproven remedies used in unscientific medicine empirically in yesteryear (like owl dung for malaria). Unproven, often worthless, remedies are used all too often today by unscientific practitioners. Of course sugar pills work for the complaints of about 25 to 30 % of people.

Without proving something, it wouldn't be science. Things need to be researched before they are presented as fact or science. If science "woke up a little earlier" and relied only on intelligence, it would not be science it would be theory.

And imagine when someone questions a person's "science" that they never took the time to fully research and it is disproven. That person and the theory loses credibility.

Science is not simple or quick and research and time are required.

Many people thought the world was flat before it was proved

Many people thought the earth was the center of the solar system before it was proved

Many people thought only homosexuals could contract AIDS before it was proved....

Sometimes it is worth the wait to have something proved or disproved.
