I got a job 2 weeks ago after a long 2 months of hard looking/applying/interviews. I must have went through 7 different interviews and none of those hired. The job I just got hired to was a walk in and they asked me if I needed a job. Now I thought it was totally strange for a company to ask me if I needed a job but what the hell, yea! I need the money.

I bring this up because allmost ALL the people I know are having really bad times finding jobs. One of the people I know even went as far as applying to McDonalds but he was never called for a interview or anything. He even called them. My brother got hired but it took them a full month to tell him he was hired.

Is this noticable for anyone else or is it just a run of bad luck for some of us?

Job markets certainly vary depending on what area of the country you live in, however over the past 4 years or so, job growth has been good to great, including recently.

But I think a lot of companies are fearing a slow down up ahead and may be less likely to hire, but this would be a very recent phenomena, like in the last 2 months.
