Air National Guard yes, you can just apply to go active, Army National Guard no. Right now the USAF is not accepting any prior service personnel for reenlistment.

Most likely not.

The Air Force allows very few prior service members to enlist.

National Guard and reservist are considered prior service.

In 2007, the Air Force only allowed 47 prior service members to enlist for active duty in the AF.

If you join any other branch prior to the Air Force Don't plan on going active duty. The active duty Air Force has no prior service program. you can join the Air Force reserves after being in another branch

After you finish your hitch, you may, a kid I knew did the opposite and had to take a bump from E5 to E 3.

Depends on your service record

Request for a transfer in the branch of service and it may be approved by the higher headquarters.
