I would like to be able to keep these flowers in remembrance as we just had him cremated and plan on burying him with either his father or his mother when they pass. I would like some great ideas on what I could do with them.

Take a picture of each flower araingment and save a couple flowers and press them in a book. Make a scrapbook with the pictures of the araingments and all the pressed flower for that araingment.

It is the sentimental value of the flowers and the remeberance. Dried flowers are hard to pack up and move and take up a lot of space. Scrapbooks are neat and easy and you actually can see the fresh arangment as is was.

Good luck

If they are cut flowers, they won't last many days, even in air conditioning. Here is what I did with some of the beautiful arrangements from my son's funeral: First, I photographed from all sides, the arrangements that I most wanted to keep, and later had a florist recreate the arrangement using silk instead of fresh flowers. The originals I gave to nursing homes and to hospital patients who the nurses said had no family visiting. If you want to keep individual flowers and dry them, you can do that by hanging them upside down, not touching anything, until all the moisture is gone; then spray them with clear polyurethane spray. They will keep a long, long time. One of the grapevine wreaths with silk flowers, I sprayed in its entirely with clear shellac. I can easily clean it with a little furniture cleaner, like Endust.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

At hobby and craft stores they have some granules that you can use to preserve flowers. This material works great. Then you can stores the flowers in an arrangement or however suits you and your family.

If they are live cut flowers, you may press a petal or 2 from some of the flowers.....If they are live plants..keep them....if they are silk flowers, you may want to give a vase or two to your church, school principle etc........May God Bless you and direct your mind in what to do...It would be hard to keep them all....
