The radiation Nurse is the best person for initial treatment.

Mine slathered me in a gel antiseptic and wrapped me in plastic kitchen wrap! It worked!!

Once I finished my treatment, I found I got the best relief from discomfort and peeling skin by using a good quality body butter. Cheap ones didn't help, but the more expensive ones soothed the area and there is no visible scarring. When you palpate the area, there is definate skin thickening in the area which I am told is internal scarring.

I was so severely burned during my radiation I had to take a 2 week break and slather prescription creme on my breast. I could not wear a bra and had to keep my breast dry from body sweat. After I finally finished I used Qn. Helen coca butter . It is the thick kind that comes in a tub. You may always have a dark/tanned looking area and or orange peelfeeling skin. In time it gets better.

i got really bad burns on both sides of my neck during radiation treatments. My doctor prescribed me RadiaCream (i think that's the name of it), but it didn't help when i was almost finished with treatments. The burns were too bad. I actually had very dark brown skin that was peeling off while taking treatments....it always felt like little needles were sticking in my neck. So I started using A & D ointment....I would just slather it on there....it's such a thick, clear ointment that it just cooled it off and helped the needle feeling....

Good Luck!!!

My doctor told me to use a moisturizer. They gave me samples which helped. He also suggested using something that didn't have additives in it.
