You should first decide if you want your teeth for a lifetime. If you do, you should get to a quality dental office ASAP!!! Your tooth may not be restorable any longer and at minimum will need a root canal, build up and crown. The odor your speaking of is called periodontal disease and you can loose your teeth from this disease. It is a low grade infection in your mouth. Think about how many times a day that you swallow and you are allowing this infection to go into your body by swallowing it. GO TO THE DENTIST!!!!

I have had loads of fillings, one tooth I've got about 6 fillings in it. A few months ago a small chunk fell out, then a few months later another one and about 20 minutes ago another huge piece fell out of this tooth, don't know if it's filling or tooth coming out. Either way I'm going to the dentist asap and I think you should do the same. Ask what your dentist thinks you should do, and if s/he says you should have it pulled out get at least a second opinion.
