Today's society responds to sin in pretty much the same way people did in Jesus' day. That is, they hate people who point out sin. Generally, though, they throw figurative rather than literal rocks.
Jesus said, in John 7:7, "The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that what it does is evil."

Today's society encourage sin.In previous decades, sins always occurred but it was hushed up or shunned by society. Nowadays, sin is considered socially acceptable and some actually mock those who attempt to not sin( or sin less), which is a total 360 around from what society used to think.
For example, 150 years ago, if a woman and a man fornicated and it resulted in a child, society would name the child a "bastard' and deny it many rights. Society would also label the woman a harlot and she would be a social outcast. If the man were discovered, he would be looked down upon but not as much as the woman. Now,men and women are expected to fornicate and not wait until marriage for sex. many chose to have children before marriage and the births and children are celebrated, along with the lifestyle.
This is only one example and there are many others which point towards society being more acceptable towards sin/ immoral behaviors than in previous times.

Today society is forgiving for the most part. I also believe we've become to tolerate of certain sins, you can't let your kids watch tv no more, its all about sex or the language is terrible, I think alot of people even question now if there is a right or wrong, I think the Bible is our moral compass. Jesus Christ came on the earth to die for our sins, not many are believing, he was a perfect sacrifice for our sins, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that who soever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life, Christ was the only perfect person yet the crucified him, at least now we can get to Heaven by believing in him, have you ever accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, if you would like to be saved just say this simple prayer and you can have a personal relationship with the creator of the world, just say Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

If it is a sin in 1950 but not in 2007, then that means society has lowered its standards concerning behavior and has more tolerance. Consider sexual relations between unwed partners.
If it was accepted in 1950 but not in 2007, then society has become more cognizant of evil. Consider beatings and murders of one group by another group.
So how do you define sin? How do you make sense of these examples? Confusing, isn't it? C. :)!!

Today's society has a very relaxed view of sin compared to our parents and grandparents. Trash is seen as acceptable. We are on a slippery slope into the toilet.

They use the idea of sin to justify discrimination and hate towards others they don't agree with, at least some Christians do. I can't believe your teacher is making you do a religious assignment, isn't that illlegal? They're supposed to keep school and religion separate institutions.

Look around, American's have embraced sin as if it were their best friend!
Jesus said that there are but 2 commandments: 1. Love God with all your heart, mind and soul.
2. Love your neighbor as yourself.
Are you feeling the love?
