Just minimize and right click on the program and select MOVE and use your keyboard arrows to bring it back on screen.

This is one of the oddest things I have heard. Wow! Now, there is a way to have your system not remember its window position but I doubt it will fix your issue because if you minimize a window, any window, it travels off screen. Just having it forget its minimized position won't help as you will still need to view it full screen, as when you go to minimize it is will once again travel off screen.

Listen, it sounds like you have a virus. It sounds like a not so horrible one, but one all the same. Perform a full scan on your entire system, including your boot as soon as you can, right now if possible. If your security program fails to find a virus, do not let that fool you as many viruses and other malware first have to be discovered before a signature file (the item which enables security programs to detect and delete or cleanup viruses and malware) before the program can even detect new strains. This means until malware has infected enough systems for it to be drawn to the attention of security developers to develop the "antidote" or signatrue file. So, you could very well be infected and it gets by your security software because its new.

Is there anything else going on with your system which seems odd? Such as slowing down, or programs freezing or crashing? These are signs of infection.

If you still believe you are infected go to a HijackThis forum and get help cleaning out the infection. It is not difficult, but takes somebody who knows what they are doing to assist you. There are a couple of steps which includes downloading and running the HijackThis utility, then uploading the resultant report back to the site and posting it. Once they are able to view the report they will give you more directions. It is not difficult, it just may seem that way because you have never had to do this before.

These folks give of their time for free and so please be patient with them while they help you. They all have day jobs and do this on the side to help the Internet Community. When your system is clean and all is right again make sure you go back to the forum and let them know your issue is solved. They get people who ask for and receive help and then never go back to acknowledge that help or say a little "thank you".

Now, if it turns out to not be a virus, there are several newsgroups Online where you can go for help. Microsoft has several and everyone there also gives of time freely and are all vollunteers. Here is the main page which will get you in to the forums:

http://support.microsoft.com/gp/commnews

You can read as many posts as you like without registering, but if you wish to post or respond to posts you will need to register and get a user name and password. Usually it is the .Net Passport you use, but it is simple and free.

Good luck and have a nice day.

I wanted to add that Nick J's solution worked for me just now when I found this question via a Google search.

I right clicked on the program's button in the task bar, selected move then slid my program back into view with the keyboard arrow keys.

When I finally saw the window I found that it had been resized into a tiny little rectangle just big enough to see the name of the program. I wonder how that happened...
