A brief answer is so difficult here!

Presbyterianism grew out of [John] Calvin-istic (Protestant) thought.

Lutheranism grew out of [Martin] Luther-an (also Protestant) thought.

Methodism grew from a movement within the Anglican church in England, which itself manifested during the reign of Henry VIII for different reasons than those cited by Protestants on the European contintent. Methodism centered around John Wesley, an Anglican cleric who did not separate from his church but worked enthusiastically with others to foster a "spiritual awakening" within it, along with a emphasis on social justice and scriptural study.

Fellow clerics called Wesley and those in his study groups "methodists" because of their personal habits of exacting and thorough inquiry into spiritual, ethical, and social issues. In the United States, groups identifying with the concepts expounded by Wesley and his circle formed their own denominations, adopting that term for themselves.

I cant say for the other denomonation...but Lutherans believe the basics of the Bible....Father, Son(Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit. The 2 scaraments of which they believe to be holy are

1. Baptism (usually infants but also those who accept Christ later in life) and this done by sprinkling and a pray with the Father, son , holy spirit(water and the word).

2. Communion (Body and Blood of Christ which they believe is truely just that)...using unleven bread and wine.

They tend to be conservative in their services in regards to praise and worship using hymnals.

Evangelical (meaning foundational Bible) Lutherans do not allow at this time to have women as ministers.

However, they are biblical and conservative on their beliefs. As I got older and left home I sometimes went to Lutheran church when i was in college. However, I didnt stay. I thought it to be boring. I am now Charismatic and Conservative. I have the best time in church now...even though I'm not Lutheran anymore.

It comes down to ......not religion....but a Relationship with Jesus. Thats the difference for me.
