If you already have an idea about your future , like
Doctor or corporate officer , an internship with the hospital or company .
If you need bucks for living , an apprenticeship in the trades ( electrician , carpenter , plumber , welder etc )
If you just want to go to college and need flexibility ,
Restaurant / waiter work .
Good Luck !

It depends on what you expect from a first job. If you're in it just to make some spending money, but don't need to cover fixed expenses like rent, etc (live @ home w/ parents?) you'll have a very different focus than if you are trying to take your first steps on a more specific career path.
Try to figure out what you want to get from the experience, then work on narrowing down what type of work environment/responsibilities you're comfortable with.
Once you know what you want from the job and what you're willing to offer as an employee, it will be much easier to decide what job you're specifically looking for.

A good first job is something you can keep up with, make money, and still have enough time to keep up with school work and or chores.
