Our earliest records date to 1180 CE, Normandy, France . . . the "Grand Exchequeur," or "Great Roll," for that year and also the later one for 1195 CE.

Because we're ON the Roll, we were presumably Normannii---Rollo's Band, most of whom were Danes, Jutes, and Ingvaones from the Cimbrian peninsula region of Scandinavia.

By about 1510 CE, we were in Great Yeldham, Essex, England, and by 1634 CE we were in New London, Connecticutt, here in Vinland.

Maternal side is Irish, Czech, German, Polish
Paternal side Lithanian, German, Dutch, and Native American
I am third generation in all of those except for obviously the Native American, and the Irish which we aren't totally sure about because we think they sort of snuck in. :)

on my mother's side, my ancestors are from Norway for generations, back to the 11th century is as far as we could trace the line.

on my father's side, my grandmother was from Norway, and my grandfather was from Bosnia Herzegovina way before there was a Yugoslavia.

So I am three quarters Norwegian and one quarter Bosnia, by ancestry.

My father's father's family patriarch was from Bishop-Stortford, Hertfordshire, England and came to the U.S. in the 1600's. My father's mother's family came from Germany in the 1880's.

My mother's family is all from Mexico, and it's hard to do geneaology on this side of the family due to poor record-keeping.
