Let's say that I spent my life parallel to the bible without worshiping Jesus. Why can't I get into heaven then? Does that make Jesus a tyrant? I have to obey him and do what he says or I can't go in? Just wondering.

Unfortuantly we're all sinners, and sinners go to hell. Its only through Jesus Christ that we were purified, and are now able to enter into heaven. If you live your life parallell to the Bible, why not try living your life through the Bible, and through Jesus. What do you have to lose. If you have read the bible you should be able to see where his work takes place all through out.
No I dont think Jesus is a tyrant. Follow the word of God, which is the Bible, and you can never go wrong.

No one can go to heaven except through Jesus (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).

It does matter what you believe, regardless of how sincere you are (Acts 17:22-31).

Some who committed awful sins will be saved, and some who did not commit awful sins will be lost (Matt 26:74-75; Titus 3:5)

Not everyone will be saved (Matt 25:41-42).

One thing is certain. God will save whoever comes to Him.

Because you have sinned in life, and sin cannot enter God's presence. The bible says there are none without sin, it doesn't matter how "good" a life you think you have led. God made a way out; by repentance of your sin and faith in His son, who took the punishment for your sin on the cross of Calvary. If you refuse to believe in Jesus, your sins will not be forgiven and you will stand before God at judgment all alone, with no advocate.

I don't mean to be unkind or harsh; I do mean to honestly and plainly tell you what the bible says about salvation. It is in Christ alone.

Change the word "believe" in your question to "understand."
If you do not understand the complete truth, you will not be conscious of heaven. Jesus is no tyrant, but you will have to willingly give up ALL your mortal thoughts, and so this may not be something that you are certain you want to do yet. But suffering leads to reform, and you have time, so when you are ready, then you will turn about.

Because God and man are so separated that they can not be together except by a bridge. Christ is that bridge and is the only way to get into heaven that we know of. Morality for morality's sake doesn't matter, God doesn't care if you were a good person just to be a good person, God wants you to return back to him and be in communion with him and follow his plan for your life and the only way to do that is to accept Christ as Savior and Lord. Also, if you do not want to do this then Heaven has no appeal for you because what makes heaven perfect is the connection with God, if you do not want that then Heaven is not a place you would want to go.

Muslims also say that you can't go to Heaven if you don't believe in Mohammad.
You could believe in Jesus all you want but if you don't obey the New commandment...love God, love each other; you are damned.

Here's why. People go to Hell because they have sinned. People don't go to Hell because they don't believe in Jesus. If you have ever lied, stolen anything (even small), used God's name in vain, lusted after another person (and who hasn't) or broken any of the Ten Commandments, you are a sinner. You cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven because God demands perfection in His Kingdom.

It's not possible for us to be perfect, so there's no way we can get to Heaven on our own. So, God sent his only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross so that our sins could be forgiven. He did that so that we would not have to go to Hell, and thus can go to Heaven. What you need to do is repent of your sins and put your trust in Jesus Christ. Repenting is turning away from sin and believing in Jesus is to put your trust in Him-that he is your personal savior.

You can't live your life parallel to Jesus because it's not possible to be perfect. God will not allow even the smallest imperfection into Heaven because if he gives imperfection an inch, it will take a mile. He can't have that in His Kingdom. Those who haven't heard about Jesus, perhaps in Asia/Africa, aren't going to Hell because they didn't worship Jesus. They are going to Hell because they have sinned.

God is a just God. If you have broken His laws, there must be punishment for it. It doesn't matter how "good" you think you are. If you stood before a judge in a court of law, and he finds you guilty of hundreds of crimes throughout your life, it won't matter how good you were. The just judge will see that justice is served for those crimes. You don't have to pay that fine, though-Jesus did it for you. That is why one must repent of those sins and believe in Jesus Christ.

Once you admit you are a sinner, you are in a better position to realize the importance of Jesus did. You don't have to go to Hell, but it is up to you. The same free will that god gave you that you can sin with you can also use to believe in Jesus. I pray that you will put your trust in Him today!

to John B- I have seen your same answer on several other questions. As far as someone as evil as the guard repenting and being saved: Yes, anyone who sincerely asks forgiveness can be saved and go to heaven. Even Hitler, if he had repented.

As for the Jewish family, you state they were innocent. But, in truth, no one is innocent. We all sin, myself included, but Jesus provided a way to let Himself pay for our sins. This life is short compared to eternity, and good and bad happens to us all. The wonderful reality of eternity with God surpasses anything we may go through on this earth. Both the nazi and the jew has the same offer of salvation. As for the children, they will always go to heaven if they have not yet realized the difference between right and wrong.

You messed up in your first sentence!! You CANNOT "spend your life parallel to the BIBLE without worshiping JESUS"!!
HE is not a tyrant, HE is the ONLY ONE who has volunteered to save your life by allowing man to take HIS.
You will be "just wondering" for eternity if you do not learn to stop trying to find some back door to get into Heaven.
