ADHD is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. There are many different varieties, but it is basically a condition where the brain cannot prioritize as to what stimulas is most important in any given situation. It tries to compensate by paying attention to everything, which causes anziety. Anxiety leads to the release of adreniline, which causes the individual to have more energy than they generally need to deal with the situation. This leads to the hyperactivity. Most children who have Attention Deficit disorder also have the ability to hyperfocus. When they learn the coping techniques that help them to deal with their condition, they can sometimes even turn the ability to hyperfocus into a genuine advantage. This generally takes a long period of training with a licensed therapist however, and many individuals with ADD and ADHD have limited resources. Hope this helps.
