The Old Testament Saints are in heaven with God.
The Catholic Church believes that those who die never hearing of Christ but have sought the truth and does the will of God as they understand it can be saved. See Romans 2:13-16. This is called the Baptism of desire. (1)
If they died before Jesus died for our sins and opened the gates of heaven for us, then they waited in what is called in the Old Testament Abraham's bosom or Sheol.
Catholics believe that after Jesus died on the cross, he descended into Sheol, the place of the dead. While there He freed the holy souls who awaited their savior in Abraham's bosom. (2)

With love in Christ.

Old testament saints are not dead, our soul and spirit live for ever, no human being ever dies, read your bible. On the mount is a subject of great interest. Elijah as we know never died a human death but was taken straight up to Heaven. Read about him and moses in the OT. I presume Moses was there because Jesus's death on the cross would be the end of the law, or the way saints got saved in the old Testament. We now only have to bow our heads and we can ask Jesus to come into our hearts and save us. We don't sacrifice animals no more as Jesus was the Perfect Sacrifice for our sins. When he rose from the grave the third day he changed the way people got saved forever. If you have read over in the book of Revelations there will be two witnesses come back to earth to preach during the tribulation period. It could be these two who knows, anyway hope I answered your question if you need more info send me an email, good luck and God Bless YOU!!!!

Life is energy; the body is matter. Moses's and Elijah's lives spoke to Jesus on the Mt. of transfiguration centuries ago.

Most old testament saints are dead. All except Enoch, and Elijah, in the bible it says that they didn't die. It also says that and angel warred over moses' body after he died, that is probably why those were the two who met with Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration

i'm not Catholic, yet i flow to mass at a Catholic church usually and that i in my view understand the respond to this. Catholics do not pray to saints, they pray with the aid of saints. Saints are like God's receptionists to Catholics. they don't look to be divine or an merchandise of worship or something like that.
