It's possible, but unusual to get mumps a second time.
But there are other infections that can cause swelling in the salivary glands.

Can you get mumps twice?
I had them last year, and I'm feeling the same way again, My neck didn't swell a lot last time, and it's only slightly puffy now, but I'm getting lot of pains down my face and neck and generally felling tired and run down

Hmmm, maybe you have a case of "Scarlet" fever? ;)
Seriously, though, according to various medical websites, you canNOT get mumps more than once. However, those who have had mumps, may be susceptible to other diseases, which I won't go into, here, because they rarely occur.
You might have mononucleosis, which has symptoms similar to those you described.
Regardless, see a doctor, and don't rely on what anyone else says, myself included!!! ;)
P.S. To "ToothFairySpaniel", the web also says that you cannot get Chicken Pox more than once (refer to the last link); your child probably had an allergic-like reaction to someone else's chicken pox. However, you're correct that anyone who has had chicken pox *MIGHT* suffer with shingles (a form of chicken pox) later in life (everyone in my immediate family has had chicken pox, but only two, so far, had shingles, nearly 30 and 50 years later, respectively!).

Yes I'm sure you can If you had a mild caseof it first time round you may not have built up a strong enough resistance
I've had it twice! I work with kids and I think I've picked it up from kids who have had the M.M.R in seperate doses' because they seemed to have a bad reaction to it

Yes, sometimes but rarely your body does not build up immunity with the first case and you subsequently can get them again.
My daughter had five, yes five cases of chicken pox when she was three. The first several were mild but the last case she got a full blown case. She will be a candidate for shingles when she becomes elderly.

Yes. The second time will just be milder than the first. But check with your doctor - you could have a sinus infection. If your wisdom teeth are still in, it might be that too especially if there is swelling.

I've heard you can get them again if you only had them on one side the first time.
