On the news channel from Chicago they are expressing that Chicagoans and the people that run the city are really mad at the governor.
They think he is doing the wrong thing by not passing a bill to have that whole state of Illinois pay taxes to help the mass transit in the city.
Do the people of Chicago know that there are many other people in the state that do not go to Chicago and use the mass transit.
They do not want to pay taxes for something they are not using.
Why don't Chicago just get that message and increase the fares for people who use it? Then they can pay their own bills and do their own upkeep of the sysyem.
The other people in the state of Illinois are sick and tired of paying for Chicago to get everything they want.

Yeah, I know what you are talking about...All of Washington State have to pay for Seattle's cr*p. Personally I think they should get the pro-amnesty crowd to pay for it because it is the illegal aliens who add to the overcrowding that is occurring there. If they want to be a "Sanctuary" city, then PAY FOR IT!

I believe the CTA already gets one-third of its operating funds from Federal tax revenues via the Department of Transportation. So, all of the people in the U.S. who pay taxes are helping Chicago with their transit system.
In California, the California Department of Transportation runs a train system between San Francisco and San Jose. Their funding comes from taxpayers all over California. Maybe that glaring example is what the Governor of Illinois wants to avoid duplicating.

I agree with you and the governor, if he wants to remain governor, won't be that stupid!

They don't want to increase their rates and I suspect they don't want to let you see how poorly their operation is run and how much money people make who work for the system!

This is the right type of thing to announce. People need to hear about stupid things like this.

The answer is no. They should not have to.
