but there is a difference between icing and frosting.

Yes. Cake icing is usually buttercream.Cookie icing is thinner and usually made with a merengue powder so it crusts over the cookie.

i use the same for both.. cream cheese icing is the only thing i use.. it just doesnt seem as sweet
