I would like to know how to put my weather channel back on start up. I had someone who decided I didn't need it on my computer and I would like to know how to put it back on my start up menu. Also, how do you remove other things from start up? Like Quick time. I have Windows XP.

Thanks for your suggestions. I tried it and it didn't work. I finally had to remove it totally from my computer and re-install it to get it on my start up. I tried to delete some others, but never saw the Quick time to delete it. I am just computer illiterate. Thanks again.

If you are using XP Goto

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

(copy this text and paste it into the address bar of the Windows Explorer)

Right Click and create a short cut of the program there. When you boot next time the program will start automatically.

i'm not sure if you are talking about internet home page or when you first start your computer. i cn however help you with removing stuff from start up.

go to start then to run. type in msconfig. this will bring up the windows configuration page. the very last tab at the top says startup. this you can untick any programs that you don't want to start up when the pc does. DO NOT untick just any old thing because you pc won't start properly. Only untick the programs you know for sure and do't want to start, like quicktime. Now click apply. it will ask for a restart you can if you want to, or don't worry till later but when it does restart it will come up with a box saying basically that there has been changes to the starting of your pc do you want to go back to the way it was. if your pc played up back on restart go back into msconfig and retick some of the programs you have unticked. restart again. if there was no problems then tick the box at the bottom of this box and hit enter.

1. create a shortcut (on desktop) from the weather channel folder.
2. cut the icon from the desktop
3. open my computer and click on C:\drive
4. click Documents & Settings\All users\start menu\programs
5. paste the icon there

Also, in that same folder you can delete the programs you don't want. As long as they're "shortcuts" it will not delete the entire program.

Hope I explained it correctly & did not confuse you =]
