Why wouldn't they have the doctrine of the trinity if they had been chosen by God to have the fullness of the gospel?

Don't you think that God would spell it out to them, just like people says the New Testament does?

Please give me references too, showing me where it states the concept of the trinity in the OT.

They did have the fullness of the gospel, as God saw to reveal it to them. That was the time of the Mosaic Law, which was in effect until Christ came. They had the fullness as it was set up at the time.

I don't really know, but I've added this to my private watchlist... curious about what info you get.

Edit---
I've been thinking....
I've never heard of a father without a mother... even a single father implies that there is a mother somewhere. Maybe God the Father was talking to a Mother?

There are many who say things about new-born infants that imply that they feel/suspect that we lived with God before we were born... "fresh from heaven"... Maybe Father was talking to us?

Maybe Jesus and God are two separate beings, and God, the Father was talking to His best and brightest Son....

Do you not realize that you answered yourown question with your last addition? They were under Mosaic law until Christ was crucified and resurrected. Check out the Moasic law sometime, it is very simplistic. The 10 Commandments! We are talking about people who couldn't understand because of how primitive their thinking was. However, by the time Christ came, people were thinking more complexly and were menatally more advanced and could understand more complex ideas. Therefore, the concept of the Trinity was introduced.

But you should also remember how many times the Bible has been re-written. And I mean literally. The monks used to sit and literally copy the Bible over and over and over and over... That's how they got more copies prior to the invention of the printing press. You cannot believe that some monk somewhere was tired of writing and left a few chapters out here and there, and then it happened again and again. What we have now is so completely distorted from what it said originally, there is no wonder people fight over the meanings of passages these days.

The evidence of the Trinity is throughout the Old Testament.
It starts in Genesis 1, and runs through the Prophets.

( It's worthwhile to note here that the word "Trinity" appears no where in the Bible, Old or New Testament. But the evidence is everywhere.)

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created...
God is "Elohiym" in the original Hebrew.
Elohiym is a plural noun.

If you notice, the OT becomes less and less violent as it progresses. The NT is even more benevolent. It wasn't until the 7th century that someone decided to revert back to the OLDEST PARTS of the OT as a guide for acceptable behavior. That person thinks we should live exactly like the Jews of the 2nd century BC, and attempts to COMPLETELY negate the whole mission of Jesus by declaring the NT to be corrupted. That person also made his OWN stories about Jesus's life, and the things he said. He also declared himself to be the "final" prophet in the process.

Ignore the false prophets and stick with the message that attempts to bring all people together as one, regardless of their faults or transgressions.

The fact that the trinity is not mentioned by name in the Bible is about as consequential as the fact that the word polygamy is not in the Bible either. You see the concept, but not the word. The word was made to describe the pre-existing concept.

The Holy Trinity is implied in the old testament, but reavealed fully and perfectly with Jesus in the New Testament.

Gen. 1:26, "Then God said, let US..."

Through marriage, our earthly families are made in the image and likeness of the true perfect family: The Holy Trinity. We can know who God is and live out his life in our families! The Holy Trinity give their life and love to eachother without reservations, we should imitate God by being gifts of life and love to our spouse and children. God bless!

It is. They just don't identify it with a word.

Read Psalm 2 carefully. It is a conversation between the three parts of the Trinity.

A Child is to be born as a man who will be the Mighty God.
Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Jehovah says that He and the coming Redeemer are eternal.
Isaiah 44:6
"Thus says YHWH, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer [Yeshua], the YHWH of hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.'"

Again, Who is the Redeemer? Who is the Savior? YHWH.
Isaiah 49:26
"All flesh shall know That I, YHWH, am your Savior, And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob."

Before He was born, Jesus identified the trinity.
Isaiah 48:16
"Come near to Me, hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; From the time that it was, I was there. And now the Lord GOD and His SPIRIT Have sent ME."

Nobody had the fullness of the Gospel until Jesus revealed it to them, in the flesh, just as God had always intended.

The Jews failed to accept it, even then.
