As Far as I can see,the only way to do it would be to rip all the tracks you want to a playlist, then add the edited version your particular song and burn them to another CD. You can place them in the same order

While you can't replace it on the orginal CD, you can rip the songs from the original into Windows Media Player, then burn the ones you wish onto another CD.
It is relatively simple process:
Put CD into CD/DVD tray. It will open on your screen and a list of options should appear. Select the option to rip with the program of your choice.
After the program has ripped the tracts off the original CD, you can then select the tracts you wish to burn back to a different CD.
Select the tracts you ripped, add the replacement edited version to the list, then pop in a blank CD into the CD/DVD tray, (remove the original first) and then click Burn. It will burn the tracts to the CD in the tray and should pop it out when finished, if that option is enabled in the programs options.
You can make sure it ejects after ripping or burning in the Options dialog box of the program you choose to use. Just go into Preferences or Options and click on the tabs until you find an option to put a check mark in a box for ejecting when finished. It is simple.
This should get you started. It helps to know which program you will wish to use as your default for such actions and then go in and configure options as you would like. This presetup makes ripping and burning simple.
If you have any problems just open the Help files for that program, find the ripping and burning topics and read how to set it up and use these features. It really is not difficult once you do it a time or two.
Hope this helps, good luck and have a nice day.

Ripping is making an exact copy of a CD on your hard drive. You can burn a whole new CD with the songs you select, but you can't just replace a song on the original storebought CD.
You will need both the CD of the album with the edited version and the CD with the explicit version. Rip the CD to your computer, then remove the explicit song. Rip just the edited song from the other CD and replace it in the song list. Now burn a new CD.

ripping a cd is using it's information to copy onto another source or directly onto your computer. You cannot change a closed cd which is what you have bought. But you can rip the cd, replace the music file you want to, and create a new one.

You mean ripping an audio CD?
Ripping is the process of converting or recording music files from cd into your hard disk or to a storage media attached into your computer. The music file will be saved in the format of your choice, normally it is an MP3 file. you can save it also as WAV files. the process is just few seconds depends on your system and software you are using.

If it is a store boughten CD I don't believe it is possible. The type of CD they are burned on are not able to be written over.
