I have connected my LG 29-inch TV as a second display for my PC using a S-Video cable with a four-pin SVideo connectors on both ends. My PC has a Geforce FX5500 AGP card. I play a movie on the PC, then send it to the TV using the UltraMon app, picture quality is quite good.

While the video plays fine, there is no audio. I've tried various audio cables (4, each 10 meters in length) but the audio doesn't happen. I am really desperate now because if this doesn't work, the Rs. 5000 (about $100) will go down the drain. The audio slots available on the TV and PC are:

* PC: 3; Blue, Green and Pink(in order)
* TV: 3; Yellow, White and Red (in order)

If this info doesn't help much, let me kno0w and I will post photos of the audio slots on the TV and PC.

Right now I'm behaving like a small child who starts howling if the sand castle breaks even before it is finished.

Please help out this novice.

Much appreciate.

The green connector on the PC should be the sound out, probably a 3.5mm stereo jack.

The sound inputs on the TV are the red & white jacks.

You will need a cheap conversion cable to convert the output jack to standard RCA sound wiring (see link #3).

I suggest that you start by pluging in a headphone into your sound out (green) jack. If you don't hear sound at the jack, the problem is probably the sound settings (found in the control pannel of Windows machines). Another possibility is that the right sound card driver is not installed.

Once you have sound at the output jack, connect the sound cables. Make sure that your TV is set to the correct sound input in its menu.
