Growing up in fundamentalist church, I began to see myself as almost the worst sinner ever created.

I left the church but it took me a long time to get over this.

No one is perfect. Some people do bad things, some people do horrible things, we all end up in the same place at the end, dead and in the ground.

I dont see how christians think they are getting into heaven, just by going to church they are sinning, they only do "good" things so they can get into heaven, not because they just should out of human decency. Dont let those hypocrites make you think poorly of yourself. by going to church, praying, going to confession, and trying to convince other people their way is the only way, how many sins have they broken?

lust), (gluttony), (greed), (sloth), (wrath, ), (envy), (pride).

The only reason there is a church is because people are gullible and the government and powers that be did a damn good job convincing everyone bad things will happen to them if they dont do what the imaginary man says. Thats how higher ups keep you in line, keep you obedient, fearful of your actions, and out of the way. If your brain is consumed w/ all that bullsh*t, you arent going to have room, time, or energy to figure things out on your own, therefor you pose no threat to them.

The Bible calls it "teaching for doctrines the commandments of men", and that will always be hurtful. The teachings of Jesus will never "hurt" us, but will give help, hope, comfort and peace to even "the chief of sinners", which is what the apostle Paul called himself. It's not about how sinful we are....all of us are sinful. It's about how righteous Jesus is and that he covers us with his righteousness just for the asking. I'll never get over that!

true, everyone sins. Luke 7:47 therefore her sins and they are many are forgiven, for she loved me much, but one who is forgiven little, shows little love." James 1:21 So get rid of all that is wrong in your life, both inside and outside and humbly be glad for the wonderful message we have received, for it is able to save our souls as it takes hold of our hearts. there are some people who call themselves Christan's but are not. To be Christain is to be Christ like. that's what it means. Peter 1:16 He himself has said," You must be Holy, for I am Holy." If you turn from sin and turn to the Lord and live for him everyday, he'll help you
through out your life. He'll be there in times when you need him most and comfort you. His light will shine through you. He knows everyone thoughts and sees everything we do. He looks at your heart
to see if it good or not. people judge from outer appearance but he doesn't. If you have strayed away from the flock, come back. He alone can save you. I 'am the way, yes and the truth, and the LIFE. No one can get to the father except by means of me. John 14:16 if you have any questions you contact me.

The Bible says Jesus came to die for sinners which only shows His love for sinners. That should not have caused you to leave the church. Must have been something else. Stop blaming Christianity for it.

It was not Christianity that hurt you, it was an incorrect interpretation of Scripture by a false teacher.

The Bible warns us about such false teachings, and people who would misuse the word of God for personal power or gain.

True Christianity brings you joy and peace. It brings you knowledge and power to face all the world places before you.

I do not think there is something so clear-cut as sinning. People make mistakes, life goes on, we try not to do them again. We are all the same.

"Has any one else been hurt by Christianity?"

I'll get back to you on this right after I ask my neighbor whose house burned to the ground, and a non-denominational congregation took up collections for 5 months to help him recover and get back on his feet.
