Rent a truck and pull the car. I wouldn't pull that big of a trailer with a focus.

If you go to U-Haul's website, you can enter the vehicle you plan to tow with and they will tell you if it's possible. I don't think it will be, though. A Focus is too small. Like someone else mentioned, rent a truck and a car dolly and tow the car.

I myself would not contemplate such an arduous journey in such a vehicle. The Hyundai Accent is is a great little car but you would kill that car with a trailer such as that which you are talking about.I would not tow with anything less that a 6 cylinder motor car. I hope you don't try to do this for your car & your safety sake. I hope this is help full for you.

Thats a pretty big load for that little car, i would suggest renting a truck and car dolly to tow the car instead.. you dont have enough power or brakes to stop it, if it was a hundred miles or so you could probably make it but not across country

Sounds dangerous.

Check your owner's manual. I don't think the Focus was intended to pull trailers. Small, underpowered, tiny brakes. The trailer may weigh more than the car. Bad situation.

You're wise to be so cautious.

Call U-haul. When I have rented from them, they tell you if you can use certain vehicles. They usually will not rent you a trailer your vehicle cannot safely tow.

i wouldnt do that, the focus on has a 4 cylinder in it. It is going to be hard to keep the car up to speed with the trailer on

I agree with the two people who said to contact U-Haul.
They always ask what the tow vehicle is, and what hitch it is equipped with. If your car or hitch is not suitable, they WILL NOT rent the trailer.

I don't see why not. Ask them about an electric brake for the trailer. It comes in handy on hills and is a must in the snow.
