The keys, Ctrl and Shift are used to select files in folders. Each does it a bit differently:

If you wish to select a group of files all together, or close together, select the first file, then press and hold Shift, and then click on the last file in the area she wishes to select files.

If the files are not all grouped next to each other, but rather seperated by other files not wishing to be selected, select the first file, then press and hold down Ctrl and then click as many files wished in the folder.

There is one more method of selecting files close together:

Click close to the file and then drag the curser over the files. This selects all files within the framework of the area the mouse went around. Practice with it and see if you like using this option.

Once you select all the files you want, you can drag and drop the entire bunch where you wish them to go, or right click on and select "Send To" and then select the place to send to in the context menu of the Sent To option. Or, copy and past by right clicking on one file, select copy, go to the folder which they are to go, right click there and select Copy.

Good luck and have a nice day.

P.S. How you choose to copy or move a folder and where affects the permissions and can leave files inaccessable. If you Copy a file to a folder on the same hard drive, or a different hard drive, the file takes on the permissions of the new destination folder and the original keeps its old permissions. If you move a file to the same disk, it keeps the original permissions and deletes the old file at the same time. If you move a folder to a different disk the file takes on the permissions of the destination folder. In all cases the person who copies or moves the file becomes the Owner Creater and can change or modify the permissions once copied or moved. If you wish to ensure even permissions then Copy the file, if you don't want the old file delete it after the Copy is finished. Sometimes people move items and then don't know why an Access Denied error occurs. This is why I added this to my post. It may not be needed information, but better safe than sorry.

Also, this only is true if the format of the disk if NTFS, FAT or FAT32 does not use any sort of security/permissions. If you move a file or folder off of a NTFS Drive onto a FAT, etc, you lose all security on the file/folder. Good information to have if you have sensitive data you are concerned about others accessing or if you need them to access it and find they receive errors when you tried to share files/folders.
